HTML Mail Readers

HTML email is a way to make messages appear in a nicely formatted way - with decent fonts, pictures etc. It uses the same technology that makes web pages - HTML - to make it happen.  HTML email has been around for a few years now and most modern mail systems can accept it.  Certainly it's the way of the future and will increasingly become the accepted standard for formatted email.

Here's a short list of mail clients that can read (and usually send) mail formatted using HTML (Web page) codes:

• Microsoft Outlook 98 (free download for Office 97 users)

• Microsoft Outlook 2000 (in beta, part of Office 2000)

• Outlook Express 4 (part of Internet Explorer 4)

• Netscape Communicator

• Eudora 4

HTML mail is also supported by some web email services including:

• Hotmail
• Rocketmail
• WebTV
